Welcome to Swaffham Youth Council

The Swaffham Youth Town Council (SYTC) is for 11-18 year olds who live or go to school in Swaffham.  The first official meeting took place on the 3rd March where 14 young people attended along with the Mayor Shirley Matthews, the Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk. 

They discussed various issues such as: -

*  Swimming Pool	*  Highway issues
*  Cinema	*  Events more young people
*  More Facilities in Swaffham	*  Plowright Place
*  Northwell Pool	*  Market
*  Recreation Ground	*  Skateboard Park

They arranged a bingo evening in the Assembly Rooms in September to show the older generation young people can be organised and responsible.  It was a great success, the event was packed out.  They not only made a profit of £316.41 but received a grant of £500 from Kingdom for any future SYTC events.  The SYTC meet every 6 weeks in the Town Hall at 6.30 and anyone wanting to find out more are encouraged to come along to a meeting.
