I consider myself very fortunate to represent the people of Swaffham at the three levels of Local Government, Town Council since 1987, District Council since 1991 and County Council since 2001. As an extension to my parish duties, I am also Vice Chairman of the Norfolk Association of Parish & Town Councils. Within the Parish I have served on all the committees at various stages and continue to be a trustee of the Town Estate and Chairman of Hammonds Education Trust. I have also been entrusted with the Mayorship of the Town on two occasions
At District level I have been Vice Chairman of Planning and am currently Chairman of the Local Joint Consultative Committee and Vice Chairman of Social & Environment Scrutiny Committee. I was honoured to have been Chairman of the Council in 2000/2001.

At County Council level I serve on the Cabinet Scrutiny and Education & Cultural Review Panels; also am Lead Member for Health to the Social Services Executive. As County Councillors, it is expected we serve as School Governors locally so I serve on the Swaffham VC First & Nursery School & Hammonds High School Board of Governors.

On a personal level, I have one son, three daughters and seven grandchildren. I am Welsh born and educated and sing in my church choir as well as Dereham Secular Choir. I have enjoyed living in Swaffham since 1983 ran a shop for 12 years between 1987 and 1999. I have always loved working with and for people so am in my element now working through local government. I feel privileged to have been afforded this opportunity.
